Inflection Point Solutions Co-Hosts Information Technology Research Project Workshop

Inflection Point Solutions co-hosts Awwa Research Foundation Workshop.

As a member of the Malcolm Pirnie/Red Oak project team that is currently conducting the research project entitled “Optimizing Information Technologies Solutions for Water Utilities” for the American Water Works Association Research Foundation (AwwaRF), Inflection Point Solutions (IPS) co-hosted a project workshop to develop the recommended IT research project agenda, along with a corresponding Request for Proposal candidate list.

The workshop was held March 25th and 26th, 2008 in Phoenix, Arizona and included representatives from Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority, GA; Denver Water, CO: Eagle River Water & Sanitation District, CO; Fairfax Water, VA; Los Angeles, CA; Louisville Water, KY; Phoenix Water, AZ; and Seattle Public Utilities, WA..  The outcome of the two-day workshop was determination of appropriate IT research topics, group and prioritization of each topic, development of project descriptions, and establishment of proposed completion issues and timelines.

The comprehensive research project deliverable will provide actionable ideas for water utilities to implement in the short-term to better leverage and manage IT and a program to promote long-term progress for the industry.
